Firefighter Under the Mistletoe by Melissa McClone Review

Firefighter Under the Mistletoe

by Melissa McClone

Back of the Book
Christmas magic in Hood Hamlet...For Leanne, infuriatingly charming firefighter Christian Welton is out of bounds. Not only is he too young for her, but his trail of broken hearts is legendary. Leanne's fought hard to be one of the boys, and won't let anyone see that Christian's smile makes her want to melt into his arms!

Christian wanted to discover the softer side of the tough-talking paramedic, but hasn't counted on how much the real Leanne affects him. He's vowed never to settle down, but under the mistletoe it's certainly the season to be tempted....

Review:

I read this book in one sitting. I was completely swept away in the first chapter when Leanne rescues Christian and his cousin Owen after a climbing trip goes bad. Leanne and Christian work together in Hood Hamlet. She is a by the book paramedic and he's the rookie firefighter. Throw in that she's older than him, she has worked hard to be one of the guys and she won't admit that she does have feelings for him, it makes for a great story. Christian is from well to do family that has a winery. He's heart is being a firefighter not a wine maker.

I will admit that I have read Sean Hughes and Zoe Flynn's story (Christmas Magic on the Mountain) and the online story featuring Cocoa Marsh and Rex Billings (Snow Kissed Reunion-its on the Harlequin website) but I have not read Carly Bishop and Jake Porter's story Rescued by the Magic of Christmas. I plan on reading it within the next few weeks. Leanne has also been a secondary character in each of them so when I read that she was getting her own book, I was thrilled. I knew that Leanne would be a tough nut to crack but Christian was up to the task. From the moment the book opened to the moment that I shut it closed, I sighed, laughed and fell in love with both of them.

Ms. McClone has written a beautiful and emotional story of two people that are finding their way in the world and finding out where they belong in it. Its also the story of family and what defines a family and your place in a family.

Leanne and Christian have sizzling chemistry from the start and it only heats up during the story. Half the fun of a Harlequin Romance is the build up of chemistry through out the story and the gratifying HEA at the end. One thing about this series...will there be more? I love Hood Hamlet and the people that make up the town. Their journeys toward love and family never cease to amaze me.

I highly recommend each of the Hood Hamlet Christmas stories. I read mine in order but each stands alone.

Risk It by Natasha Moore

 Review:

Natasha Moore has written a book that should be on everyone's list to read and discuss with their partner, married or not. Its thought provoking, sexy and is written with a intimate knowledge of when a marriage is on the edge of unraveling.

Amy and Will have it all. Great jobs, two kids and what seems like a great marriage. Peel back the layers and you will find a marriage that has lost its spark. The physical intimacy of a marriage is one aspect of a marriage that some people tend to forget about. After reading it last night, I told my husband about it and it sparked a great discussion between the two of us. I'm not sure if Natasha wrote the book with that in mind but its a topic that should be discussed.

On to the book itself...Amy has decided that she and Will need a spark to reignite the sexual aspect of their marriage. She books the voyeur room at the playhouse. It was the thing that they were into when they were dating and before they had children. When Will's late, Amy decides enough is enough. The dialogue between them in the room is spot on and thought provoking. While the sex is hot, that's not what makes this book great. The discussion and emotions that Amy and Will have with each other are what drive the story. Real emotions, real discussions and in the end, the decision to work on the physical aspect of their relationship.

I can not highly recommend this story for every committed couple to read either together or separately and see where the discussion goes. It sparked a discussion between my husband and I last night; to me that's the greatest compliment that I can give an author. Made us think, made us communicate and made me love him even more.

Sex, Gossip and Rock & Roll by Nicola Marsh

Back of the Book

In all her time as premier tour manager to Australia's stars, Charli Chambers hasnever had someone as infuriating—or delectable!—as successful businessman Luca Petrelli along for the ride. He might always be in the gossip columns, but there's no way she's letting him claim VIP status!

But Luca's wicked eyes are just too tempting. In spite of herself, Charli's soon attending after-parties—just for two. She wants to believe this is one duet that's about to go platinum, but in spite of Luca being unprintably good in bed, can she ever get close enough to the real Luca for their fling to be more than just a one-hit wonder?

Review:

I know, I know. Most people are already exiting the review because its a Harlequin book and that's rather sad. As most people know, I love my Harlie's and promote, talk about and holler has loud as I can about them. I chose to read a Presents Extra for a number of reasons. The first reason is that I haven't read one in over a year and secondly, I love Nicola Marsh's Harlequin Romances. I was not disappointed in picking this one up.

Charli is a complicated character as first. She is a tour manager for the premier record label in Australia. She was literally thrown out of her house at an early age and was picked up by Hector, the label founder; she was mentored, nurtured and grew with his help. The one thing that she really never experienced was love. Luca was Hector's grandson and was never accepted as a member of the family based on his father's never acceptance of him. When Hector needed Luca to tag along with Charli as the finance manager on Storm Varth's (the name is awesome) comeback tour, Luca and Charli didn't expect to fall in love.

Ms. Marsh has created two lovable and likeable characters. Charli hides behind her job and her snarky attitude. Afraid to trust herself and her feelings for Luca. Luca, on the other hand, never experienced what it was like to be truly loved and accepted. What started off as flirting and strong innuendo between Charli and Luca ended with hurt feelings and hearts broken.

While this is a Harlequin Presents Extra, the bedrooms scenes are tasteful, loving, hot but not graphic. You could lend this book to your mother or grandmother and not be embarrassed. They are emotional and thought provoking. My heart broke for both of them at one time and I really worried about them.

The dialogue is crisp, clean and hilarious. The secondary characters are supporting and not intrusive. I highly recommend Sex, Gossip and Rock & Roll for anyone that wants an emotional satisfying read with hilarious flirting and a sigh worthy ending.

On a scale of 1-5:  5 for sure...

Four of Hearts Tour

I have today husband and wife Richard Wolfe and Dr. Fallon Enright and Ryan and Candace Callahan.  What started off as an anniversary present to Candace, bloomed into so much more.  Thanks guys for stopping by.

Ryan – Thanks for inviting us over today. Ever since we went public with our relationship, the four of us have been lying low. We’ve decided it’s time to change that.

Forgive me for being the rookie here in asking questions, so please be gentle.  J

1.      For our dear visitors, please explain how yall met and how long you have been together?

Ryan – Richard and I were college roommates, and we’ve been friends, bothers actually, ever since. We both met Fallon when she applied to be the resident Sex Therapist on our cruise ship, the Lothario. That was what…Richard? Almost three years ago now?

Richard – About three years, but Fallon and I didn’t get together until much later. Fallon has an admirable work ethic. She wouldn’t get involved with her employer –that was me. At least that’s the excuse she used to keep me at arm’s length. The truth was, she thought I was sleeping with every woman on the ship. Thank god, her contract ran out!

Fallon – I think I knew all along that Richard had given up his playboy ways, but what I felt for him scared the daylights out of me. I’d never wanted a man the way I wanted him. For someone with my training, it was disconcerting – to say the least. Then Ryan brought Candace to one of my oral sex classes, and Candace and I clicked. We became friends almost immediately.

Candace – Oh my god! I thought Fallon was the most interesting person I’d ever met! I fell in love with Ryan on that cruise, and I was such a naïve ninny! If it hadn’t been for Fallon’s help, I don’t know if I ever would have had the courage to go after Ryan the way I did. I never thought I’d say this, but getting dumped by my former fiancé was the best thing that ever happened to me.

2.      Candace, you asked as your one year anniversary present from Ryan to be tied up in ropes.  I realize that when you and Ryan got together, he opened up a whole new sensual world for you but why ropes?  Also, Ryan with everything that you had experienced in the past, why the reluctance in showing Candace?

Candace – I think it was Fallon’s influence that put the idea in my head. She and Richard had been into rope bondage from the beginning of their relationship, and just the way she talked about it made me curious. I wanted to see for myself what she meant when she talked about the freedom she experienced when Richard restrained her.

Ryan – I’ve had a checkered past in regards to sex – I won’t deny it, but I’d never used ropes before. I wanted to give Candace the experience she craved, but I knew I wasn’t qualified to do it right. Truth? I was scared to death I might hurt her, and that just wasn’t acceptable. I’m getting better. <grins>

Candace – Yes, he is. He’s not as good as Richard, but he can tie a wicked knot now!

3.  Fallon, you are a sex expert, especially with ropes, why do think people like to be tied up?  Is it a feeling of freedom for the person engaged in them or is it more of a control issue with your partner?  Richard, please feel free to help Fallon here…  J

Fallon - You’ve actually hit on the major issues involved in rope bondage. The primary psychology is domination/submission – a power exchange, if you will. The submissive gives all his or her power over to the dominant in the relationship, at least from a physical standpoint. The submissive is restrained, thus powerless.

Richard – However… the submissive is truly the one with the power in the relationship – from a psychological point of view. The dominant is motivated by his or her desire to give their submissive the ultimate pleasure. From a personal point of view, I can tell you that my pleasure is derived from Fallon’s pleasure, and Candace’s now too, though I don’t restrain Candace as often as I do Fallon.

Fallon – And there is nothing like the freedom to experience the absolute most pleasure your body is capable of. Too often, women force their orgasm, for whatever reason, and in so doing, they cheat themselves out of the buildup. When they give that power/control over to their partner, the reward can be beyond anything they’ve ever known.

3.      Richard and Ryan you had shared women in the past, so I’m not sure why the hesitation?  Okay, besides the other beating the crap out of the other, but if Fallon and Candace were willing and comfortable with each other, was it a just a caveman reaction?

Ryan – I think I can speak for both of us. Part of it was the caveman reaction. My woman. Don’t touch or I’ll kill you. I never felt that way about any of the other women we’d been with. Candace was my wife, and that’s not something I take lightly, then or now.
Then there is our business relationship too. Richard and I are partners in a multi-million dollar company. Messing around with your partners’ wife is usually a recipe for disaster – not to mention against everything we were brought up to believe was right. Like most men, we were taught that monogamy was the way to go, at least in marriage.

Richard – That about sums it up. It took me a while to figure out that Fallon and Candace weren’t going to cut our balls off for touching another woman. I’m not sure Candace would actually cut Ryan’s balls off, but I wouldn’t put it past Fallon if she thought I was cheating on her.

Fallon – You are a smart man, Richard Wolfe. No wonder I love you so much!

4.      When it became public knowledge about the four of you, what was the hardest thing that you, individually and then as a couple had to face?

Candace – I can answer that. Talk about caveman reaction. Ryan and Richard went total caveman on us. *beats fists on her chest* Me protect my woman. Kill anyone who calls her bad name.

Fallon - *laughing* Yep. That’s exactly what they did. They didn’t really care what the tabloids said about them, but when it came to their women – watch out! It was kind of cute that they wanted to protect us, but honestly – it was damned annoying too.

Richard – Fallon was so mad at me, I was scared spitless that she was going to leave me. Once she and Candace went public, it was a relief.

Ryan – I learned a valuable lesson the day that interview aired. I learned just how strong and brave Candace is. She was willing to stand up to society and defend our marriage, and our love, even when I was too much of a coward to do it myself. I have all the respect in the world for her and Fallon. I’m married to the two most remarkable women in the world.

Richard – Amen to that.

5.      I know that most people don’t “get” your relationship with each other so what would you like to tell people about it.

Richard – I don’t blame people for not understanding. I didn’t either, at first. I don’t think any of us did. We didn’t go looking for another relationship. It wasn’t like we were out wife-swapping all over the place. It just happened. We were friends, then our friendship grew into something more. If it hadn’t been for Candace asking Ryan to tie her up, and if he hadn’t come to myself and Fallon, then we probably never would have recognized what was going on. We probably would have just been best friends for the rest of our lives.

Ryan – He’s right. I never would have even thought of touching Fallon, and I damned sure wouldn’t have let him touch Candace.

Candace – See. Cavemen.

Fallon – It’s still sort of cute – as long as they only go cavemen where we’re concerned.

Candace – That’s for sure. They’re ours, and we don’t share!

Thank yall for stopping by and answering a rookie’s questions.  It’s been fun.

Fallon – Thank you! Now that our polyamorous –

Ryan – There she goes with that ten-dollar word again.

Fallon – As I was saying…Now that our polyamorous relationship is public knowledge, we’ve decided that the best way to get society to accept that humans are capable of loving more than one person at a time, is to show them that it’s possible.

Richard – And I’ll do anything Fallon says – at least outside the bedroom.

Candace – Watch yourself, Richard. Fallon’s been showing me some new things. You might be in for a surprise or two.

Ryan – *groans * Oh god! Here we go again!

EXCERPT #1:
Chapter 11 – Julian’s Arrival
As I got closer, I watched as Kristin transformed from calmness to increasing bloodlust. She latched onto Trent with her legs and tried to pull him toward her so she could reach his neck. Astonishment raced through me as I watched her get out of control. What was going on?
Trent was fighting to keep Kristin off his neck as I came up on the other side of the car. When Trent looked up and saw me, I saw a moment of relief flash through his eyes.
“Trent, I’m going to grab her from behind. Unlock her legs from around you as soon as I tell you and push her away,” I told him as I reached over the top of the small car.
“Now!” I yelled at him as I pulled her back over the car. Trent had pushed her so hard that we both fell back onto the ground. Kristin froze for a moment in my arms, caught by surprise, but it didn’t last long because she quickly flipped over and went for my throat.
The words Alex wrote ran through my mind again … “Whatever it takes … protect her …” I put my hand on the back of her head and held her to my throat as her canine teeth broke the skin and I felt the first pulls of my blood leaving my body. I knew she had no idea who I was or what she was doing, but that didn’t stop me from taking this moment.
She greedily pulled from my neck, and I felt the lust rising in her as she pushed her body hard against mine. My body reacted immediately, and it took every ounce of strength to not bite down on her neck and take her right there. Trent broke through my pull at the lust when he
shouted at me.
“Julian! What the hell are you doing?” I felt him grab Kristin, and I felt her trying to fight him off. I wanted to stop him myself, but his next words rang true in my ears. “You can’t let her do that! Especially not here!”
I pushed up on Kristin as Trent pulled her from behind, quickly removing her from our position on the ground, at the same time, taking a quick look around and seeing the eyes of three startled women watching me, probably all friends of Kristin’s. I wasn’t sure who was going to be madder at me for what I was going to do next—the friends, Trent, or Kristin.

EXCERPT #2:
Chapter 19 – Kristin’s Shift

I pulled my vest out of my locker and put it over my head just as he finally spoke.
“Why are you wearing that?”
I glanced at him quickly then turned my back to pull my shirt out of my locker. “Everyone knows I am religious about wearing my vest. It saves lives, and it would seem kind of strange if all of a sudden I stop wearing it now.”
“Makes sense,” was all he said in return.
John walked into the station then and stopped dead in his tracks when he saw Trent. Trent stood up straight and looked John over from head to toe. I almost laughed as I felt the male testosterone filling up the room.
“Hey, John, this is Trent. He works for Alex and wanted to see how the big boys do it.” I smiled at him, and John seemed to relax and walked forward to shake Trent’s hand.
I heard Trent make a gruff sound at my explanation of his being here. I’m sure he loved my use of “big boys.” I bit back a smile.
John filled me in on his day. Not much going on; some alarms and ambulance calls, nothing major. Trent followed me out of the station as I walked out to the garage to pull out my patrol vehicle. He was lucky that I drove an Expedition as his large frame would have been a tight squeeze in the Charger or Crown Vic patrol cars that we had.
As I was logging on to the computer a car pulled up into the driveway. I looked up and saw that it was an elderly woman, and she pulled up next to me and rolled down her window. I smiled. I knew who she was and what this was going to be about. Perfect.
“Officer Greene, I’m so glad you are on duty. Buffy has taken off again. Do you mind?” I knew exactly what she wanted me to do. Her little dog had taken off into the park woods again and with her bad hip, she couldn’t venture out to bring her in.
“Mrs. Valero, I would be more than happy to bring Buffy home.” I smiled back at her.
“Oh, thanks, dear. She’s getting restless again. I think they are back,” she said quietly in an awe-filled expression.
I laughed. If she only knew. “No problem. I’ll bring her home in a little while.” I drove off toward the park, typing a message to my dispatcher over the MDC that we had in the car. Our Mobile Dispatch Computers connected us with a lot of information, from our direct connection with our dispatchers and other officers to information on stolen items and car and driver information.
“Who is back again?” Trent asked me as I pulled off the roadway to drive through the grass along the tree line. I couldn’t help but laugh, “Oh, just wait.”
I pulled up along the tree line and hit my air horn twice. Then I climbed out of the truck and whistled loudly in the air. “Buffy, come here!” I shouted and could hear fast little feet tramping over brush and sticks back in the woods. Buffy always came to me.
The little dog wasn’t more than twelve pounds soaking wet and she came bounding out of the brush and right into my waiting arms. She was always happy to see me. I walked around the truck and opened the passenger door. Trent looked at me funny as I handed over the fuzzy little dog.
“Trent, meet Buffy. Buffy, the vampire slayer.” His eyes opened wide as he stared down at the little dog in his lap.
Buffy, in turn, growled at him and pulled her front lip up, baring her sharp canine teeth. Her entire body vibrated with the growl as she stared him down. The look on Trent’s face was so priceless that I could do nothing but laugh.
“Are you kidding me?” he asked as I closed the door and started back for the driver’s side of the truck. I was still laughing when I got into the seat, and Buffy was still staring Trent down and growling low at him.
“Nope. Buffy knows when the vampires are here.” I put the car in drive and started heading out of the park to take the dog home. Trent sat very stiffly holding the dog as she continued to growl at him. I just kept laughing. This was just a perfect call.

EXCERPT #3:
Chapter 19 – Trent

Her adrenaline was racing, fierce and strong. I could feel every drop of it. While I had felt my share of adrenaline surges on my own, I had never felt one coming from someone else. It was amazing. She told me to grab something out of the truck as she pulled up to a house and immediately jumped out of the truck and ran to the front door. I was right behind her along with the other two cops that had followed us over.
When I got inside, Kristin was already doing compressions on the man and was looking around the room. Ian was down on his knees getting a piece of equipment out, and Kristin told me to get the pads ready. I sat down next to her and pulled them out getting them ready for her. The whole time I could feel her emotions running through her.
I watched as she looked up at the wife, how she looked over at the children that were with Stefan, heard her prayer for the man she worked on.
As she stood up and backed away, allowing the other personnel to work on him, I found I couldn’t take my eyes off her. She walked to the woman and picked up a toy, then moved into the kitchen. I followed her quietly. She spoke with the woman and handed the bunny to the little girl. The compassion moving through her system was amazing, and I could feel it. The adrenaline was dying down, but other emotions were still very strong in her.
We left the house after the man had been taken out on a stretcher. I walked next to her as she walked to the truck. As she put the red bag into the back, I felt awestruck. She turned to me, and I had never meant to say anything, hadn’t meant to do anything, but when I saw her look at me with a confused look on her face, I could not stop myself from stepping up close to her.
“I could feel your adrenaline. It was so strong, and then I could almost feel all your thoughts. You were worried about the man and the woman who was crying. You were fighting for that man’s life because he had small children and he was too young to die. I heard them; I felt them. That was incredible.” I lifted her chin with my fingers.
“That was beautiful.” I leaned down and kissed her. I didn’t care who saw us, or what was going on around us. I needed at that moment to tell her how amazed I was at all of this. How amazed I was at the feelings the bond between us had created. I would have said more, but her radio came to life and called her once again.

I am also a wife to a Police Officer and with our constant schedules life can get very hectic in our home. I have been blessed with two children, a son who is currently in the United States Navy and I am very proud of him for what he is doing and for putting serving his Country. My daughter is a priceless princess who loves to help me market my books to teachers and other parents while she is at school and church.

When I am not working the job that currently pays all the bills I work on my business. Yes, I have my own business too.

I have two Shiloh Shepherd dogs, Garda and Callie. They are a bit different than the standard German Shepherds most people are use to. They are larger and less aggressive and they have more fur!  Man do they have fur!!!  Garda has a face that resembles a wolf, which makes me love him even more. (You can see by my photo that I wear a wolf pendant). Garda actually means "The Guardian" in Irish. It is also the name of the Irish Police.  Rather fitting for our family of officers don't you think?

In my spare time...I write.

As the dust settles from the destruction of the Bloodstone Heart, a small scroll that had been hidden in the hearth of the altar room for hundreds of years, reveals a prophecy that seems to be about the Larsen family. While the group tries to unravel the riddles of the prophecy they also start to notice they’ve acquired some interesting new powers from the Bloodstone itself, some of which are going to take some getting use to.

While at home, things take a turn for the worse when there’s a tragic airplane crash, the Larsen vampires start dropping like flies, Bernard goes missing, and all the bad deeds dealt seem to point towards one person – the Dark Angel. What’s so important about the altar room? Why are people dying in the name of this prophecy? Will the Larsen’s survive these new tragedies? These questions and other deep seated secrets will be revealed in this final installment of the Blood Series.
 Review:

As most of you know, this is my first foray into the YA world and I have not been disappointed at all.  I think that Ms. Tolles has written an excellent series that anyone could read and should read.

This is the final book the Blood series and I'm really sorry to see it end.  I will admit that I have only read books 3-5 but will go find 1-2 and read them soon.  As with each book, it centers around a couple and in Deadman's Blood, the couple is Anton and Julianna.  Anton had been through so much in the earlier books that I really wanted him to have his HEA and he did.

There were times that I did find myself shaking my head wondering why we really needed to see what happened to Darby and Devon in Ireland and for me, it kinda took away a little from Anton and Julianna's story.  I did, however, like how Ms. Tolles wove all the previous stories into this one so that a new reader could keep up and not miss out on the conclusion of the series.

Overall, I liked Deadman's Blood and the Ancient Ones sub plot was excellent.  The final battle scene at the end was extremely satisfying and a great conclusion to the end of the series.

I'm sorry to see this series end but I can't wait to see what Ms. Tolles comes up with next.

Last Man Standing Blog Tour

I would like to thank Lacey for coming to Harlie's Book Blog.  I have the blurb to Last Man Standing and an excerpt.  Congratulations on the release and its definitely on the TBR list.  Lacey's links and buy information is at the bottom.

BLURB:

Over a decade has passed since Jaslyn "Jazz" Vanburren had her heart broken by her high school sweetheart. After turning thirty, Jazz finds herself remembering the past and tells herself to leave it where it rightfully belongs—behind her. In order to do that, she has to face the man who broke her heart.

When he calls her out of the blue, asking to see her, Jazz knows her chance has come to show him what he's been missing.

But Jazz has another problem. Ryder Donovan—her best friend and her boss, the man who'd always been there for her, finally tells her like it is—he’s in love with her. Always has been and always will be.

Will Jazz hold tight to the past and the heartache she's lived with? Or will she embrace the future with the one man who has never let her down? Who will be the Last Man Standing beside her?

EXCERPT:
His head dipped, taking her mouth with his, his tongue plundering her mouth before she had a chance to draw her next breath.
Shivers rushed through her body. Jazz’s eyes closed and she gave herself up to him. What she’d been dreaming about for weeks didn’t even come close to the reality of his body against hers and his mouth feeding on hers.

Even her memories didn’t come close to the overpowering and immense feelings coursing through her at this moment.
Her body felt alive. Wrapping her arms around Ryder’s neck, she gave back. Their tongues tangled and battled. Licking and nibbling one another’s mouth, angling their heads from side-to-side, the building could have caught fire and neither would have noticed.

Her hands ran down his back, her fingers digging in, bringing him closer. Pressed solidly against the window, Ryder’s body against her front, Jazz was burning alive. Images of tearing his clothes off, pushing him to the floor, licking and biting each and every inch of him flew through her mind.

Determined to do just that, Jazz was surprised to hear ringing. The only things that should have been ringing in her fantasy were their ears after they’d both found release. But they hadn’t gotten that far yet.

Wait...

What was that ringing?

“Jazz,” Ryder pulled back, but still dropped tiny kisses on her lips as if he couldn’t let her go. “The damned phone. We have to…damn, you taste so good….”

Ryder’s body left hers and Jazz looked into his eyes. Heat and desire burned, his body tight, he looked ready to pounce at any moment.

The phone still ringing, Jazz walked to her desk on legs that felt like rubber. She didn’t know what to think. Her and Ryder…?

It was everything she’d fantasized about—and feared.

Kacey Hammell is a self-proclaimed book-a-holic, who began reading romances at a young age and became easily addicted. With the love of contemporary settings, modern day romances and make believe happily ever after, and the excitement of suspense, Kacey creates her stories writing what she’s familiar with and what she loves most. Of course, those aren’t the only books she reads. Blood-sucking vampires who nibble the necks of the heroines are another addiction she especially loves, shape-shifters are sexier than hell and she’d loves the thought of her very own werewolf or were-cat to tame! Locked in her office, at her computer, she lets her lusty and exciting characters lead her through their trials and tribulations, their love and their adventures. Detectives, P.I.’s, lusty men, sassy and headstrong women all come to life in her heart and on paper.
