Do Women Over 40 Have Hot Sex?

Do Women Over 40 Have Hot Sex?

This is a great post! And so true!

Undercover Lovers-Review

Who’s undercover?

Shane Madison – Dead sexy private eye posing as a Strippendale’s dancer
Tucker Lamb – Smooth as butter former conman posing as nerdy professor
Saffron Burton – Sensual food critic posing as just another customer
Katrina Killian – Brazenly sexual cop posing a gang member
Four ultra-sexy stories by four great authors.

Conquered by Cari Quinn Serial monogamist, Emma Donegan, has never had a one night stand. But when she sees the sexy cop-stripper at a friend's bachelorette party, she resolves to make her most risque fantasies come true.

Playing the part of a stripper is way out of private detective Shane Madison’s comfort zone, but the future of his business hangs on this one case. Too bad the incriminating evidence leads right to the irresistible brunette who keeps slipping tens into his g-string. He can’t let her distract him. Who knew it would be so hard…

Conned by Chloe Cole - Human sexuality Professor Cricket Malloy likes bad boys, but when buttoned-up Science Professor Tucker Lamb needs help with an experiment on aphrodisiacs, she goes the extra mile to help him out. After all, he’s harmless…

Tucker Lamb was born into a life of a grifter. He’s always prided himself on his fast fingers and quicksilver tongue. Ever since being placed in the witness protection program, he’s been on the up and up, but something about Cricket Malloy makes him ache to see if his tongue is as fast as it used to be.

Consumed by Dee Carney- August Jaeger’s signature dishes have taken the Denver dining community by storm. When one Saffron Burton shows up, he’s sure he’s spotted a modern day Mata Hari sent to steal his recipes. If he manages to catch a thrill or two while teaching her a lesson, so much the better.

Food journalist Saffron Burton has a job to do: Find out what Chef Jager is serving for Restaurant Week. But with every course that passes her lips—and every minute in his presence—she’s finding what she really wants isn’t listed on any menu.

Convicted by Dee Tenorio - Crusty sheriff Cade Evigan doesn't date convicts, not even ones as irresistible as Katrina "K.K." Killian. The woman may have gotten under his skin—and once, on the hood of his car—but the sultry biker had criminal written all over her. He has to stay away.

When the shit hits the fan and the case she’s been working on for over a year cracks wide open, Katrina heads straight to the hills to protect the one man she cares about. Some temptations are impossible to resist and she knows if she stays with Cade for the night, odds are her cover isn't the only thing getting blown...

Review:

Okay, I have to be honest with y'all.  I review for two review sites and I'm used to a rating system.  Well, since I don't have a rating system on my site, I'm going to make one up.  Also since this is anthology, I'm going to review the whole book first and the individual stories.

Overall, Undercover Lovers is a great book.  Dee Tenorio, Dee Carney and Chloe Cole are new to me authors but not anymore.  I plan on going thru their back lists and shop.  All four stories are short and sweet but you wouldn't want to stop at just one.  While the stories were hot and humorous, they were also sweet, tender and emotional.

Overall Rating:  5 out of 5

Convicted by Dee Tenorio -Ms. Tenorio is a new to me author so I didn't really know about her voice or her style of writing.  All I can say is that she went up the shopping list.  Cade and Katrina lit my Nook on fire from the very first time they were together.  Their shared history and feelings for each other were combustible.  The suspense elements in the story were some of the best that I've read in erotic romance.  The last third of the book had me on the edge of my seat.  I highly recommend Ms. Tenorio if you like your stories spicy, humorous and a little suspenseful.  Great read and I look forward to more from Ms. Tenorio.

Rating:  4.5 out of 5

Conquered by Cari Quinn - Ms. Quinn has written a short story that had me laughing out loud and often.  What could be better than a male stripper that didn't know how to dance and a woman daring to dance better than him?  Or was it that had me laughing so much, the fact that Shane was on his first PI case and he mistakes Emma for his target?  Well, whatever it was, I got a great story with humor, tenderness, misunderstandings and a whole lot of love.  Kudos to Ms. Quinn for packing alot of heat and heart into Emma and Shane.    Great job Ms. Quinn and I look forward to more of your humor in your books.

Rating:  4.5 out of 5

Conned by Chloe Cole - Ms. Cole is also a new to me author that just shot up the shopping list.  What's not to love about two professors that were destined for each other but don't want to believe it?  That's what you get with Tucker and Cricket.  Neither one would admit that they had the hots for each so Tucker came up with a way to find out.  This story was truly heartfelt and sexy.  The scene at the restaurant was inspired and hot.  Ms. Cole has spun a tale of lust, love and tenderness that I read it in one sitting and so will you.  Great job!

Rating:  4.5 out of 5

Consumed by Dee Carney - I was completely, totally and didn't know what hit me seduced when I read this story.  Seduced is the best word that I can describe this sensual story.  August and Saffron were inspired characters that had me reaching for something to eat.  Ms. Carney's use of words made me feel like I was eating what they were eating and smelling the aromas that filled the room.  Ms. Carney is also a new to me author and her voice just seduced me to huge smiles and a few tears.  It was sad for me to see this story end.  I wanted to read more about Saffron and August and Restaurant Week.  Excellent job by Ms. Carney and I want an August for myself.

Rating:  5 out of 5

This month Desiree Holt celebrates her 100th release with Downstroke from Ellora's Cave.  Downstroke is the story of lovers reunited after twenty years trying to bridge a gulf of bitterness while outwitting a killer.  To help her celebrate, I'm giving you a taste of one of her other books.  Leave a comment to be entered in the drawing at the end of the month for an Acer netbook.

Burning Ambition-Review

Blurb:

Captain Joe Mendoza has wanted to be fire chief since he was four years old. And now he's one step away from making assistant chief. But that's proving to be one big step now that the chief's daughter has joined his crew. He's promised he'll keep her safe — and promised himself to keep things strictly business.

Faith Peligni has battled her way back from an on-the-job injury in San Antonio, and she's stronger than ever. Even if as the first female firefighter on the San Amaro Island crew — and the chief's daughter — she's expecting some heat. But with the impossibly distracting Joe Mendoza as her captain, who knew it could get this hot?

Review:

I stumbled on to this series a while back and I have not been disappointed.  Burning Ambition is the fourth in the series but all  of the books are stand alone.  The series revolves around a firefighter station on an island on the Texas Gulf Coast.  It features the trials and tribulations of the firefighters and their every day lives.

Captain Joe Mendoza is a 40 year old firefighter that has focused solely on his job and not much else.  He looks up to his mentor, Chief Peligni and his work ethics.  He has know Faith since she was a teenager and when she decided to join the station, he promised her dad, the Chief, that he would keep her safe.  What he didn't count on was falling for her.

Faith Peligni was a firefighter with the city of San Antonio until she got hurt.  She moved back to the island and joined the station there.  What she didn't except was her attraction to the captain and having to fight her fears while going into a fire.  She has a lot to prove being the only female firefighter on the island.

Burning Ambition is an emotional, sexy read that will make you want to move to the island to see all of the firefighters.  Joe and Faith have to decide what is important in their lives and how it can work between them.  The attraction is instant and hot but the real problem is what do they both want out of life?  Is there room for both?  And is your life ambition worth having if you don't have someone to share it with?

Ms. Knupp does not disappoint in the 4th book of the series.  I found Burning Ambition to be the most emotional of the series and most action packed.  I can't wait for more of the San Amaro Island firefighters.

Moonstruck - Review

Two sizzling tales by two very twisted sisters…

Heart of the Jaguar by Myla Jackson

When jaguar shifter Reme Denux stumbles into his ex-girlfriend's palm reading parlor in the French Quarter of New Orleans, he's fuzzy about how he got there. The last thing he remembered was a drink at a bar and having another man's dark, sensuous dream.

As soon as Reme enters her building, Sybille can sense the black magic haze hanging over the man she still loves. With the full moon on the rise, she has to do something to save him from a death-swapping hex or lose him forever. With the help of a voodoo priestess, Sybille and Reme weather the moon's supremacy and the soul-stealing storm, forging a bond of lust and love, neither has the strength to resist.

She’s All That by Delilah Devlin

Librarian by day, Melanie Bradshaw, is driven to desperation by her torrid dreams. However, when she acts on her desires, things go horribly wrong and she witnesses the murder of an overly amorous lounge lizard. With the body disintegrating before her eyes, who’s going to believe her?

When Detective Moses Brown gets the latest Full Moon case, he’s hoping it’s no more than another crazy looking for attention—until he meets the delectable Melanie Bradshaw. Melanie took a walk on the wild side straight into vampire territory. They know her and now she’s not safe. Until he can find out why, he’s going to stick to her like glue. If his own attraction gets between him and his good intentions, he’ll just grit his teeth and do his best to ignore it.

But pretty little Melanie has designs on his body. How’s a brother to resist?

Review:

Heart of the Jaguar by Myla Jackson

Myla Jackson's short novella packs a wallop of a punch.  From beginning to end, the story never stops.  In fact, I'm still trying to come down from it all.

Reme isn't sure what to think of what is happening to him and the only person that could even possibly understand is his ex-girlfriend.  Sybille won't take no for an answer when it comes Reme.  When they finally figure out what is going on, they only have minutes to make things right or Sybille loses Reme forever.

This story is not for the faint of heart.  There is sex, some consensual, some in a dream and some non-consensual.  Don't worry though.  Sybille's got Reme's back and then some.  There is voodoo, violence but most of all, there is unconditional love.

She's All That by Delilah Devlin

Okay, I'll admit that I read this story before it was published.  That said, its still one of the most interesting, surprising and truly heartfelt stories that I've read in a while.

She's All That is a My Immortal Knight story so you will see characters from the other stories pop in and out.  I will admit that I haven't read any of the Immortal Knights books but you will not be confused when reading She's All That.  It will make you want to go buy the other books in the series, though.

Moses is a cop that is following the Full Moon cases and Melanie is the latest victim of a vampire attack.  When she comes into the station to give her statement, Moses is immediately drawn to her.  Melanie has dreams that she can't seem to control.  Once Moses and Melanie figure out her dreams and how they are connected to the vampire attack, its a race to keep her safe and out of sight.

With help from Moses friends, Melanie feels safe with Moses but the dreams still keep coming.  The chemistry is off the charts with Moses and Melanie.  Their last scene will take your breath away and you might re-read it again and again.

I can't wait to go back and read the other My Immortal Knights books to get the full back story to this wonderful story between Moses and Melanie.  Don't pass it up...you won't be sorry.

The Boss's Baby Affiar - Review

Widowed billionaire Nick Valentine should have known the new nanny was too good to be true. And when Candace Morrison revealed her hidden designs on his baby daughter, Nick was ready. The sexy schemer would definitely get what was coming to her, but that wouldn't include Nick's child. Candace knew Nick had been deceived—but not by her. She was stunned by her boss's fierce response to the truth—and to their undeniable chemistry. Now she'd stop at nothing to prove her shocking claims about the little Valentine heiress. But would it make them a family...or tear them apart?

Review:

Now I know what your thinking.  The old, tried and true secret baby plot?  You couldn't be more wrong about this book.  Yes, there is a baby, no its not a secret but the secrets surrounding the baby that will be revealed are whoppers.

Nick was a troubled teenager who found working at a garden center helped straighten him out and it became his life's work.  He's rich, good looking and a softy at heart.  Candace is the nanny that has taken care of his daughter for the past month since he has been away on business.   When the two meet for the first time, Candace has already decided that Nick is not fit to be a parent since he is away most of the time.  Nick can't stop thinking about kissing her and finding out about her.

What Candace can't figure out is why Nick is so closed up to his baby and why he wants nothing to do with her.  When Candace decides to tell Nick a big secret, it doesn't go as well as she had hoped.  Nick thinks that Candace is lying and sets out to prove her wrong.  What happens between these two are explosive in and out of the bedroom.

I know what you are thinking, its Harlequin and its a Desire but I dare you to pick this book up and read it.  Tessa is a writer from the land down under, so the visual images are stunning and some of the language is different.  I love my Desires; they are good, emotionally driven and always have an HEA.  Plus, the settings are always in a place that you have never to before and you can lose yourself in the story and locale.
